Kaiyen and I trekked thru this marvelous forest on May 17, 2007. While searching for the ever elusive 4-leaf clover, we posed, pranced, and preened in front of these old, old giants. I felt so young compared to them, it was refreshing being there 😉
this got cut short though when I loaded this…but its only less than a minute left so its not too bad…

As believed here, it would be a sign of good fortune if you find one..Clover is being used with a kind of bettle as a symbol for New years’s greetings into toy stuffs and prints in cards…cute of you guys to search for one and this giant trees, with strong rays of sun penetrating to is such an occasion to foto!

ngek, di ko alam pano maglagay dito ng post na may link…but Kaiyen, who was my schoolmate in St. Theresa’s College Cebu City back in the mid 80’s, kindly dragged my poor, unsuspecting body into the forest (parang thriller!) and we went up close and personal with those big, old trees.
I haven’t posted the pics I’ve taken of the rest of my stay in SF, but Kaiyen goodhumoredly carried a camera and played paparrazi with me for the whole day…She posted pics she got of our short time together on her website (kaiyen70.multiply.com).

ah ok, i’ll check kaiyen’s website to see whether some photos of the trees were taken. how tall and how old are they do you know? teka, sige i might just visit the website. i’m fascinated with centuries old trees kasi so curious ako. we check out old trees kasi whenever we are hiking/trekking/trampling =)

I think the oldest as almost 4000 years old…I can’t remember how tall they were…I was more fascinated with the girth..and the age rings of one which was cut down for display….urgh it sent shivers down my spine thinking of how this trees were living in ages when very important scenes from our history were taking place already…ooooohhhhh…

wow 4000 years old. the oldest tree in the world is in USA (pine) and we have the world’s old rarest eucalypt in tasmania, about 3000 years old. tnx for the website, i’ll start reading na =)

I dispute that claim. Alam niyo naman ang USA, palaging sila ang magaling. How’d they know that? Sangkatutak ang mga forests sa buong mundo. In fact, British Columbia has more forested areas than California. Combine the states of California, Oregon, and Washington mas malaki pa ang land area ng BC. Logging, by the way, is BC’s largest industry.

thanks Sir B! I slaved away over this in honor of your birthday…
naah…I will tell the truth, since June 11 is going to be a holiday, I thought of using the spare time to at least look for a differerent design for my site na medyo mas-‘in” with my theme of cats…e alam mo naman Melon yun theme no..which I like really, but later na lang when I get into the food theme…
e wala akong mahanap na cat themes around na di naman pa-cutesy epek..so I just opted for the eyes….that reminds me I have to acknowledge siguro sa welcome section san ko kinuha yung CSS…
yes, nasa IT ako pero wala akong kaalam -alam pano yung mga ganito no..puro bus apps lang ako so ayan, I have to rely on the more talented people…
yung eyelashes ko di ganon ka kapal or haba..is there a way to make it that thick and long? pills or something? hehehe

I actually was joking..we didn’t eat anything while in the forest, nor am I sure if pwede mag picnic….
however, I did miss pan de sal..although while I was in the US I had so many sandwiches na feeling ko lumalabas na sandwiches out of my ears…di naman ako na-uumay…just that it was almost every meal (but not in Sanfo thank goodness)…
